Earlier in his career, Ruben honed his skills in economic development and community engagement. He played a pivotal role in rebranding the district’s online presence and launched Times Square’s first mobile app, which saw over 100,000 downloads during its initial rollout. Ruben also planned and executed some of the Alliance’s most high-profile events, including the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop, which attracted millions of attendees worldwide.
At the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Ruben led the growth and evolution of NYC Business Solutions Brooklyn Center, transforming it into a celebrated hub for entrepreneurship and opportunity. These experiences highlighted his ability to identify potential, inspire collaboration, and deliver meaningful results with creativity and precision.
Throughout his career, Ruben has successfully collaborated with a wide range of industries, including retail, hospitality, beauty, technology, fashion, entertainment, millinery, production, food and beverage, healthcare, and nonprofit sectors. Ruben’s passion extends beyond his professional life. A storyteller at heart, he brings creativity and humor to his pursuits, from mentoring yews or teaching underprivileged roosters how to read. He is committed to making every space—be it a neighborhood, a business, or a personal connection—a place where people can thrive.
Ruben’s guiding principle is clear: to leave the world better than he found it, one intentional space at a time.
